How to best care for your jewelry

At A-Hjort, we know that jewelry has a special value and meaning for many. That's why it's nice to know how to best take care of your jewelry so it has a long and beautiful life.

There are differences in the design and, not least, the quality of the jewelry.

Overall, there are many common ground rules for how to best care for your jewelry.

Our recommendations to answer the beauty of your jewelry

We recommend that you always remove the jewelry:

  • When you take a shower

  • When you sleep

  • During sunbathing

  • During cleaning

  • During sports activities

  • During gardening work

We recommend protecting your jewelry from:

  • Sharp edges

  • Sunlight

  • Extreme cold or heat

The jewelry must NOT come into contact with:

  • Nail polish remover

  • Perfumes

  • Hairspray

  • Other chemicals

Products and things like creams, soaps, perfumes, sweat, detergents and other chemicals are influential in damaging the surface of jewelry. If your jewelry regularly comes into contact with any of the above, or other forms of close contact, your jewelry may end up with an unsightly coating on the surface.

Therefore: Always make sure you remove your jewelry before training, showering, etc.

Our extra recommendations

It's important to remember that your jewelry is bought to be worn. So don't store it too far away and don't be too careful with it. All jewelry can be cleaned or polished to restore its beauty. At A-Hjort, we recommend using Hagerty products for this - and feel free to use a soft cloth to polish them.

ATTENTION. Do NOT use silver and gold cleaner on pearls, zircons, precious stones, stones or diamonds!
